End In Sight For Hummer Winblad In Napster Saga

Law360, New York (December 7, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- Music labels UMG Recordings Inc. and Capitol Records Inc. (EMI) have reached a tentative settlement with venture capitalist Hummer Winblad Venture Partners in the long-standing copyright battle over online music company Napster Inc.

On Thursday, the parties joined together to ask the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals to remand the pending appeals to the district court, hoping to put the epic dispute to rest.
