Ohio Bill Would Mandate Notice For Mass Layoffs

Law360, New York (February 4, 2010, 5:31 PM EST) -- Ohio corporations would have to give at least 90 days notice before engaging in mass layoffs under a new bill introduced in the state House of Representatives.

Unveiled Tuesday by Rep. Kenny Yuko, D-Richmond Heights, H.B. Number 434 would require any company laying off at least 25 people in a 30-day period to serve 90 days' written notice to affected employees, local work force policy boards, certain state departments and local elected officials.
