Vizio's Antitrust Fight With Funai Over DTV IP Pared

Law360, New York (February 3, 2010, 7:08 PM EST) -- A federal judge has dismissed several antitrust claims brought by Vizio Inc. against Funai Electric Co. over Funai patents for digital television technology, ruling that the transfer of a valid patent does not constitute an antitrust violation.

Judge A. Howard Matz of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California partly granted Funai's motion to dismiss Wednesday, nixing four federal antitrust claims but leaving intact Vizio's allegation of conspiracy to violate antitrust law.
