Bristol-Myers Worker Charged With Trade Secrets Theft

Law360, New York (February 4, 2010, 5:44 PM EST) -- A former employee of Bristol-Myers Squibb has been charged with stealing the pharmaceutical company's trade secrets in an attempt to set up a competing business in his native India.

Shalin Jhaveri, 29, of Syracuse, N.Y., appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge George H. Lowe of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of New York on Wednesday and was ordered held without bail. He faces 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine if convicted.
