Judge Boots Patent From Orica Blast Technology Suit

Law360, New York (February 8, 2010, 4:11 PM EST) -- A federal judge has granted defendants' bid for a ruling of noninfringement as to one patent in a suit brought by Orica Explosives Technology Pty. Ltd. over electronic blasting technology used in mining and construction.

Judge A. Howard Matz of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California on Friday granted a motion by defendants Austin Powder Co., Lectronics LLC, Dan-Mar Co. Inc. and Special Devices Inc. seeking a declaration of noninfringement of U.S. Patent Number 6,644,202.
