Dish To Pay TiVo $5.8M In Attys' Fees In IP Suit

Law360, New York (February 8, 2010, 6:29 PM EST) -- Dish Network Corp. and former parent EchoStar Communications Corp. has agreed to pay $5.8 million in attorneys' fees that TiVo Inc. has incurred bringing contempt allegations against the satellite television provider in an ongoing patent infringement suit over digital video recording technology.

Judge David Folsom of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas signed off on an order Monday approving a Feb. 3 agreement between the companies, which have been battling over DVR manufacturer TiVo's so-called Time Warp patent since 2004.
