Ex-Ernst & Young Atty Gets Year For Insider Trading

Law360, New York (February 8, 2010, 6:52 PM EST) -- A former Ernst & Young attorney convicted of insider trading was sentenced Monday to a year and a day in prison, the U.S. attorney's office said.

Judge Miriam Goldman Cedarbaum of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York issued James Gansman's sentence, which also includes six months of supervised release.

The sentence comes after a jury found him guilty of six counts of securities fraud after a May 2009 trial. The jury also acquitted him of one count of conspiracy to commit...
