Ill. Village Seeks To End Gulf Oil MTBE Claims

Law360, New York (February 12, 2010, 2:56 PM EST) -- The village of Roanoke, Ill., has asked to drop claims against Gulf Oil Ltd. Partnership in a case that has been consolidated in multidistrict litigation alleging several oil companies contaminated groundwater with the gasoline additive methyl tertiary-butyl ether.

Roanoke and Massachusetts-based Gulf Oil filed a bid asking the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York on Wednesday to enter an agreed stipulation and order of dismissal without prejudice.
