Gunderson Hires Ex-Andreessen Horowitz Compliance Head

By Sarah Jarvis (May 18, 2022, 7:37 PM EDT) -- Gunderson Dettmer announced Tuesday it has hired Andreessen Horowitz's former chief compliance officer as a partner in its corporate and securities practice, where he'll focus on the regulatory and compliance aspects of companies and funds targeting the financial technology industry.

Benjamin B. Buckwalter, who started Monday at Gunderson Dettmer Stough Villeneuve Franklin & Hachigian LLP in its Silicon Valley office in Redwood City, California, has worked on financial regulatory and compliance issues for more than 15 years, including nearly a decade as general counsel for a compliance consulting firm, and three and a half years as Andreessen's CCO.
