ITC To Probe Apple, RIM Over Kodak Camera Patents

Law360, New York (February 17, 2010, 5:37 PM EST) -- Putting Research In Motion Ltd. and Apple Inc. in the hot seat, the U.S. International Trade Commission has launched an investigation to determine if the technology titans’ smartphones infringe an Eastman Kodak Co. patent for digital camera technology.

The ITC announced Wednesday that it will look into allegations that RIM and Apple violated Section 337 of the Tariff Act by importing and selling cell phones and wireless devices with digital cameras that use Kodak’s patented technology.
