Judge Invalidates Xerox Patent, Dismisses Lawsuit Vs. PalmOne

Law360 (May 24, 2004, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A U.S. District Court has dismissed Xerox Corp.'s patent lawsuit against PalmOne Inc., ruling that a Xerox patent for its Unistrokes single-stroke handwriting recognition software is invalid.

Judge Michael Telesca of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of New York agreed with PalmOne's contention that the Unistrokes handwriting-recognition software should not have been granted due to prior art.
