Howard Hughes Heirs Fail to Halt Las Vegas Lien

Law360, New York (February 18, 2010, 1:17 PM EST) -- Heirs of Howard Hughes have lost an attempt to overturn a bankruptcy court order allowing General Growth Properties Inc. to take out a lien on massive amounts of land outside Las Vegas that the Hughes empire once owned.

U.S. District Judge John G. Koeltl of the Southern District of New York on Monday dismissed an appeal by A&K Endowment Inc., which represents a group of Hughes' heirs, concerning a lien to GGP for Nevada property in which the endowment has an interest.
