US Atty Wants 1st Crack At Hilton Over IP Theft

Law360, New York (February 22, 2010, 12:46 PM EST) -- The U.S. government has asked a federal court to stay a civil lawsuit in which Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc. accuses rival hotel chain Hilton Hotels Corp. of stealing its trade secrets while federal prosecutors pursue a criminal case against Hilton.

U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara filed a motion Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York asking to intervene in the case and saying that allowing discovery to go forward in the civil case could make the government's criminal case...
