Calif. AG Subpoenas Insurers Over Rate Hikes

Law360, New York (February 26, 2010, 2:35 PM EST) -- California's attorney general has subpoenaed financial records and other documentation from the state's seven largest health insurance companies — including Aetna Health Inc., Cigna Corp. and Kaiser Permanente — as part of an ongoing investigation into rate hikes.

Attorney General Jerry Brown said Thursday that he had subpoenaed records from those three insurers, as well as Anthem Blue Cross, Health Net Inc., Blue Shield of California and PacifiCare.
