GE Seeks Dismissal Of Unsafe Microwave Suit

Law360, New York (March 1, 2010, 2:44 PM EST) -- Arguing that the plaintiffs' claims are time-barred, General Electric Co. has asked a court to dismiss a proposed consumer class action alleging its microwave ovens present a fire hazard by starting on their own.

GE filed its motion to dismiss the suit Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.

In the suit, Timothy Hennigan of Michigan, Aaron McHenry of Ohio, and Christopher Cocks of California claim that GE has been aware since at least as early as 2002 that its microwaves...
