Lawsuit Looms For HarperCollins After Firing

Law360, New York (December 19, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- Promising an all-out war, the lawyer for Judith Regan intends to sue HarperCollins for breach of contract in the wake of the divisive publisher’s firing, according to a published report.

Regan, who commissioned O.J. Simpson’s controversial mea culpa, was terminated late last week, purportedly right before the company’s Friday night holiday party, the New York Times reported.

“Judith Regan’s employment with HarperCollins has been terminated effective immediately,” said Jane Friedman, president and CEO of HarperCollins Worldwide, in a tersely worded statement.
