Plaintiffs Can't See Smithfield Don, Doff Studies: Court

Law360, New York (March 5, 2010, 3:25 PM EST) -- A federal judge has ruled that plaintiffs in an overtime collective action against Smithfield Packing Co. Inc. cannot have access to the company's studies of how much time its line workers spend donning and doffing protective wear.

Judge Malcolm J. Howard of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina on Thursday refused to overturn a magistrate judge's order denying the plaintiffs' motion to compel production of the studies.
