Halliburton, Others To Pay $4M Over Landfill Cleanup

Law360, New York (March 5, 2010, 3:35 PM EST) -- The U.S. government is seeking court approval of a nearly $4 million settlement with Halliburton Energy Services, Princess Cruise Ltd. and others over the cleanup of a Los Angeles-area landfill once used for hazardous waste disposal.

The U.S. Department of Justice filed a motion Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California asking a judge to sign off on a consent decree regarding the 190-acre Operating Industries landfill near Monterey Park, Calif., which has been declared a Superfund site.
