Coke Bid To Buy Bottler Challenged By Shareholders

Law360, New York (March 5, 2010, 7:01 PM EST) -- Shareholders of bottling company Coca-Cola Enterprises Inc. have filed two putative class actions over The Coca-Cola Co.'s plans to acquire the bottler's North American business and to sell its own European operations to CCE for $822 million in a separate deal.

Three pension funds filed complaints against the bottling company, its directors and Coke on Wednesday in the Delaware Court of Chancery, calling the deal unfair to CCE stockholders.
