E.U. To Warn Germany Over Telecom Competition

Law360, New York (December 20, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- The European Commission has decided to give Germany an official warning over a new law defying the Commission’s 2003 order that dominant telecommunications companies open their networks to competition.

The Commission gave European Information Society and Media Commissioner Viviane Reding the green light to send Germany a “letter of formal notice,” which is the first step in an E.C. infringement proceeding.
