Allianz Seeks To Cull More Annuity Suit Claimants

Law360, New York (March 15, 2010, 1:42 PM EDT) -- Allianz Life Insurance Co. of North America has asked a judge overseeing a class action in California concerning allegedly deceptive annuity sales tactics to cut out claimants who would be common to a similar class action in Minnesota, which was dismissed.

Allianz filed its motion seeking summary judgment on Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, arguing that there is significant overlap between the California case, brought by Vida F. Negrete, and the Minnesota case, brought by Linda L. Mooney....
