Lonestar Targets Nvidia In Capacitor Patent War

Law360, New York (March 22, 2010, 5:22 PM EDT) -- Lonestar Inventions LP has added Nvidia Corp. to a growing list of companies it has accused of infringing a patent for high-capacitance structures in semiconductors.

The patent-holding company filed suit Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, accusing Santa Clara, Calif.-based Nvidia of making and selling graphics processors that infringe U.S. Patent Number 5,208,725.

The patent, titled “High-capacitance structure in a semiconductor device,” was issued to inventor Osman E. Akcasu in 1993 and subsequently assigned to Lonestar, according to the complaint....
