Camera Makers Call Patent Truce

Law360, New York (January 3, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- Digital camera makers Kodak and Sony have agreed to lay down their swords with a cross-licensing deal that ends a long-running intellectual property fight.

Eastman Kodak Company announced Wednesday it had entered into a pact with Sony Corporation to settle the companies’ disputes and allow access to each other’s patent portfolio.

The agreement marks the end of a three-year legal battle between the two companies, which sued each other in 2004 over allegations of digital photography and imaging patent infringement.
