Audit Workers Gain Class Status In Deloitte OT Case

Law360, New York (March 24, 2010, 2:54 PM EDT) -- A federal judge has allowed certain audit employees to represent a class of more than 1,900 California workers in a case alleging Deloitte & Touche LLP failed to offer proper overtime compensation.

Judge Susan Illston of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California on Tuesday granted the three named plaintiffs’ bid for class certification despite objections by Deloitte & Touche LLP that the employees had a wide variety of job responsibilities and were able to exercise varying amounts of discretion.
