House Republicans Pressure GM On Delphi Pensions

Law360, New York (April 5, 2010, 5:24 PM EDT) -- U.S. House of Representatives Republicans are continuing to pressure General Motors Co. to release documents related to subsidiary Delphi Corp.'s decision during bankruptcy to cut portions of its salaried employees' pensions.

Twelve Republicans from the House Committee on Oversight and Reform sent a letter to GM CEO Ed Whitacre Jr. on March 31, expressing concerns that the U.S. Department of Treasury had politicized the Delphi bankruptcy by securing pension payments for union employees while forcing salaried employees to accept cuts.
