'Wider Effects' Barred In WTC Shops Insurance Suit

Law360, New York (April 6, 2010, 1:20 PM EDT) -- Siding with the owner of three chain stores destroyed in the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks on New York's World Trade Center, a federal judge has ruled that Factory Mutual Insurance Co. cannot consider the “wider effects” of the attacks in calculating Retail Brand Alliance Inc.'s business interruption loss.
