Ex-DOL Official Admits Concealing Lobbyists' Gifts

Law360, New York (April 7, 2010, 6:40 PM EDT) -- Former U.S. Department of Labor official Horace Cooper pled guilty Wednesday to a misdemeanor count of falsifying a financial disclosure report that concealed gifts he got from ex-lobbyists Jack Abramoff and Neil Volz, reaching a deal under which prosecutors agreed to drop felony charges.

Former DOL Employment Standards Administration chief of staff Horace Cooper admitted to falsely certifying his fiscal year 2003 executive branch personnel public financial disclosure report in a plea agreement filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.
