Novartis Ignored Consultant's Sex Bias Findings: Atty

Law360, New York (April 8, 2010, 7:15 PM EDT) -- Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corp. hired a consultant in 2002 who revealed rampant sex bias, but the company never acted to reform its policies, a plaintiffs' lawyer argued Thursday on behalf of 5,600 female sales employees.

The wide-ranging class action against Novartis went to trial in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York on Wednesday and both sides presented their opening arguments on Thursday, in a suit seeking $200 million in damages.
