Claims Tossed In Guardsmark Pay Structure Dispute

Law360, New York (April 9, 2010, 5:13 PM EDT) -- A federal judge has ruled that security company Guardsmark LLC did not violate California labor laws when it paid its employees uniform maintenance allowances separately from their base hourly salary.

Judge Susan Illston of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California issued the ruling Wednesday, stripping the putative class action of one claim and partially tossing the other two. Still alive in the case are allegations Guardsmark violated rest period laws.
