Mohawk, Zurich Strike $18M Deal In Worker RICO Suit

Law360, New York (April 12, 2010, 2:43 PM EDT) -- Flooring company Mohawk Industries Inc. and Zurich American Insurance Co. plan to establish an $18 million settlement fund as part of a deal to resolve a hard-fought putative class action that accused Mohawk of violating state and federal racketeering laws and depressing the plaintiffs' wages by hiring illegal aliens.

Judge Harold L. Murphy of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia signed off on an order granting the plaintiffs' unopposed motion for preliminary approval off the settlement on Monday.
