Law360, New York (April 14, 2010, 5:21 PM EDT) -- Patients of Evanston Northwestern Healthcare Corp.'s hospitals are appealing a district court's rejection of its class certification bid in an antitrust suit accusing the Chicago-based health care network of abusing its monopoly power after it merged with another suburban Chicago hospital in 2000.
The plaintiffs in the case filed a petition to appeal in the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals on Tuesday, arguing that the district court erred in denying class certification.
