E.U. Delays Decision On Universal-BMG Deal

Law360, New York (January 11, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- The European Commission has extended the deadline for its decision on Universal Music Group’s bid to take over BMG’s music publishing business to the beginning of June.

E.C. spokesman Jonathan Todd said Thursday that the deadline had been extended by 20 working days, from April 27 to June 1, at the request of the parties. He said merger regulations allow for one such extension if the notifying parties and the E.C. agree.
