Blockbuster Worker Wins Round In Chair Class Action

Law360, New York (April 16, 2010, 4:45 PM EDT) -- An employee suing Blockbuster Inc. for failing to provide seats to its cashiers has gained traction in the putative class action, winning access to worker information the employer claims is private.

Magistrate Judge Maria-Elena James of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California ruled that the plaintiff is entitled to the contact information as interviewing other current and former customer service representatives is necessary to determine if the case can even be waged as a class action.
