Suzuki Settles Motorcycle Frame Defect Suit For $5M

Law360, New York (April 16, 2010, 12:56 PM EDT) -- A federal judge has approved a $5 million class action settlement resolving product liability claims against certain models of Suzuki Motor Corp. motorcycles, over the objections of individual plaintiffs and the state of Texas.

Judge Alan Gold of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida on Thursday signed off on the deal, which will provide class members with a $500 credit toward the purchase of a new Suzuki motorcycle or a $40 credit toward parts, accessories or service on an existing bike....
