Toyota Tossed From Contract Suit Over SUV Options

Law360, New York (April 19, 2010, 3:23 PM EDT) -- A federal judge has dismissed Toyota Motor Corp.'s marketing arm from a breach of contract class action alleging the car company and one of its dealers misled consumers into believing one of its SUVs came equipped with a certain navigation feature.

Judge Rebecca Pallmeyer of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois dismissed the five claims levied against Toyota Motor Sales USA Inc. and Autonation Inc., which owned the dealer, on Wednesday. A breach of contract claim against the dealer itself, however, survived....
