Sony, EA, Others Settle Voice Recognition Patent Suit

Law360, New York (April 22, 2010, 11:49 AM EDT) -- Video game biggies Sony Computer Entertainment America Inc., Electronic Arts Inc., Disney Interactive Studios Inc. and Ubisoft Inc. have reached settlements in an inventor's infringement suit over a patent related to voice recognition technology in video games.

Judge Leonard Davis in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas on Tuesday granted Texas-based Bareis Technologies LLC's motion to dismiss Disney, while the other three defendants filed a joint motion Wednesday to dismiss all claims in the case.
