Goldman Faces Shareholder Suits Over Abacus Deals

Law360, New York (April 23, 2010, 6:30 PM EDT) -- Goldman Sachs Group Inc. has been hit with two derivative suits over the same series of collateralized debt obligation transactions that the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission took issue with in the civil fraud suit it filed against the investment giant last week.

The two complaints filed Friday in the New York County Supreme Court are believed to be the first suits targeting Goldman since the SEC filed its complaint, according to a report by Dow Jones.
