Novartis Manager Withheld Info About Employee's Rape

Law360, New York (April 26, 2010, 7:50 PM EDT) -- A Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corp. manager acknowledged Monday that he withheld from the police details related to the alleged rape of a sales employee after a Novartis-sponsored golfing event, testifying in a wide-ranging sex bias class action seeking $200 million.

According to the plaintiffs, the alleged incident with the manager reflects a culture at Novartis in which there's little oversight over managers and no consequences for those who discriminate against women.
