Alcon Settles Synergetics Tying Suit For $32M

Law360, New York (April 27, 2010, 6:57 PM EDT) -- Eye care company Alcon Laboratories Inc. will pay surgical instrument manufacturer Synergetics USA Inc. $32 million for a license to distribute certain Synergetics products involved in a tying suit over eye surgery machines.

Synergetics said Tuesday that the deal would resolve all litigation between the two companies, though it did not specify which cases. Online court records showed the only pending federal case between the parties was a tying dispute in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.
