Law360 (April 30, 2010, 4:39 PM EDT) -- A California state jury has decided that CertainTeed Corp. should pay a former Los Angeles Department of Water and Power employee and his wife more than $200 million in compensatory and punitive damages for asbestos-related injuries.
CertainTeed was found liable for punitive damages, pain and suffering, and loss of future earnings and medical expenses, while the Water and Power Department was ordered to pay about $2.6 million in compensatory damages to the couple, the Los Angeles County Superior Court jury said in rulings Wednesday and Thursday.
