U.S. Attorney Who Targeted Backdating Resigns

Law360 (January 17, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of California Kevin Ryan, known for his crusade against stock options backdating, has resigned his post.

In addition to Ryan, at least five other U.S. Attorneys across the country have resigned, prompting Senate democrats to accuse the Department of Justice of pushing them out in order to fill the offices with new appointees.

Also leaving office are Carol Lam of San Diego, Daniel Bogden of Nevada, David Iglesias of New Mexico, Paul Charlton of Arizona and John McKay of Seattle....
