Pfizer Sues IVAX To Protect Market For Detrol

Law360, New York (January 18, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- Pfizer Inc. has filed a patent infringement suit against a subsidiary of Israeli generics maker Teva Pharmaceuticals Industries Ltd. in an attempt to protect the market for the world’s leading prescription bladder control drug Detrol.

The lawsuit, brought by Pfizer Inc. and subsidiaries Pharmacia & Upjohn Co. and Pfizer Health AB, was filed in New Jersey against Miami, Fla.-based IVAX Pharmaceuticals Inc. on Jan. 11. IVAX was acquired by Teva in January 2006.
