Goldman CEO Blankfein To Keep Chairman Post

Law360, New York (May 7, 2010, 1:47 PM EDT) -- Goldman Sachs Group Inc. shareholders voted overwhelmingly Friday to keep CEO Lloyd Blankfein in the chairman's seat and shot down a proposal to split up the roles of CEO and chairman.

A preliminary tally showed that just 19 percent of the firm's shareholders favored separating the chairman's job from that of CEO. All the directors up for reelection, including Blankfein, received more than 95 percent support, preliminary results showed.
