Balli Hit With $2M Criminal Fine For 747 Export To Iran

Law360, New York (May 11, 2010, 5:21 PM EDT) -- A subsidiary of U.K.-based Balli Group PLC has been slapped with a $2 million fine and five years of corporate probation following a guilty plea in February to the illegal export of a commercial Boeing 747 aircraft from the U.S. to Iran.

Judge Ellen Segal Huvelle of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia hit Balli Aviation Ltd. with the maximum fine of $2 million Tuesday, consistent with a plea deal the company previously reached with the U.S. Department of Justice.
