FDA Urges Doctors To Report Illegal Drug Pitches

Law360, New York (May 11, 2010, 6:13 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is asking doctors to report any instance of misleading or off-label use promotion by pharmaceutical representatives in private situations such as conferences or dinners, part of an effort to deepen the agency's enforcement of drug marketing regulations.

The agency’s Division of Drug Marketing, Advertising and Communications announced Tuesday the so-called Bad Ad Program, in which physicians are encouraged to report potential violations of prescription drug promotion rules by sending an e-mail to badad@fda.gov or calling 877-RX-DDMAC.
