Apple's IAd Violates Competition, Trademark Law: Suit

Law360, New York (May 24, 2010, 6:04 PM EDT) -- Apple Inc.'s newly announced iAd advertising platform is facing a legal challenge from Innovate Media Group LLC, a California-based company that claims it has been using the iAd trademark since August 2006 to sell a Web ad system.

Apple willfully infringed Innovate's trademarks and violated the Lanham Act, California competition law and the common law, the Costa Mesa, Calif.-based company said in a suit filed Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.
