Law360 (May 25, 2010, 4:37 PM EDT) -- A federal judge has signed off on a $1.4 million agreement to end a wage-and-hour class action that accused H&R Block Financial Advisors Inc. of improperly classifying its financial advisers as exempt from overtime pay.
Judge Dean D. Pregerson signed an order Monday granting final approval to the settlement in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.
In their complaint, two former financial advisers alleged that the brokerage firm improperly classified them and other financial advisers in California as exempt employees, did not provide overtime pay in violation of the California Labor Code and the Fair Labor Standards...
