Baxter Faces New Suit Over Quaid Twins' Overdose

Law360, New York (May 25, 2010, 5:14 PM EDT) -- Actor Dennis Quaid has sued Baxter Healthcare Corp. again seeking compensation for his infant twins' accidental overdose of Heparin based on claims that the drugmaker negligently used very similar packaging for two drastically different dosages of the popular blood thinner.

The complaint — filed Friday in the Los Angeles Superior Court — claims that Baxter knew that the similar labels and vials it used for Heparin and for Hep-Lock, a much weaker version of the drug used to flush intravenous lines, had led to medical mixups...
