Fox Slaps YouTube With Subpoena

Law360 (January 25, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- 20th Century Fox has threatened YouTube with a subpoena for copyright infringement to pressure the Google-owned video site into revealing the identity of a user who posted full episodes of TV shows 24 and the Simpsons.

The subpoena was issued on Wednesday after receiving approval from the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. The studio, owned by News Corp., filed the subpoena in court on Jan. 18 under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act.
