DuPont Dodges Workers' ERISA Class Action

Law360, New York (June 2, 2010, 5:33 PM EDT) -- Chemicals giant DuPont Co. has won its bid to nix a proposed class action that accused the company of breaching its fiduciary duty to pension plan participants by failing to pay up on promised benefits.

Judge Janet Arterton of the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut on Friday signed off on the company's motion to dismiss the former DuPont employees' suit, which alleged violations of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act.
